When we think about Positano there is so much that comes to mind talk about. One of the questions I often get asked is where to stay!

The benefit of being a Destination Wedding Planner is that I do visit so many gorgeous places, within this blog post I will share my insight and tell you where the most amazing spots are to stay.

Let’s first divide them by category :

Private Villas

Positano is famous for its gorgeous villas, they are beautiful with many typically built within the rocks you can see the famous landscape in the iconic postcards and images of the town.

When you book a villa, most of the time you will have to agree to a minimum nights stand which can vary from two, to three nights depending on the villa’s policy; I can assure you that this is THE best way to experience the Amalfi Coast.

Villa Magia

My absolutely favourite villa, and one which really holds a special place in my heart is Villa Magia. We shot a styled an editorial here a couple of years ago, this was also seen in the last printed issue of Brides Magazine (see here) and the owner Luca Vespoli and the event manager Marilu’ were very accommodating, helpful and attentive. These are ideal characteristics for a venue which I am looking to plan a wedding at.

This Villa is  family owned and used to be the family home for Luca (the owner), he kindly decided to open this beautiful villa up as a business and gift clients this breath-taking place to stay. The uniqueness of Villa Magia is that is one of the only locations in Positano which overlooks both of the beautiful beaches.

Like every place in Positano, you will have to walk up hundreds of steps to get there, asit is built into the rock face. I promise the walk is worth it, when you arrive you will be blown away by the views! One of my favourite places at Villa Magia is the suite which is part of the lemon garden, you can truly smell Amalfitano lemons, which I guarantee is a smell you will smell nowhere else.

Top 5***** from my list

Hotel le Sirenuse, a two - minute walk from the beach and perfect to get to if you are arriving by boat.

This perhaps, is the most iconic hotel as its red building is visible from the beach.

The hotel sits at the heart of Positano village, on the very scenic ‘Amalfi Drive’, just 55km south of Naples. Perched above the sea, their rooms, terraces, bar and restaurant are an oasis of peace and silence, illuminated by a breath-taking view.

From their Franco’s bar you can admire one of the best and a truly beautiful Positano sunset, it is magical like a painting.

IIl San Pietro di Positano it’s perfect for those dreaming of La Dolce Vita; here you can enjoy drinks on a private yatch while you sail toward the magnificent Amalfi Coast. The uniqueness of this hotel is that it is THE only hotel one in Positano which has direct access to a private beach, how fancy! Don’t you agree?

They offer so much more  in terms of food and this includes everything from their Michelin restaurant to their Bee chic corner, where street foods meet elegance. There is a vast range of options for you to explore.

Top 4**** from my list

Hotel Marincanto

This boutique hotel has 49 rooms and is a family run business; its founder was the Mayor of the town and as such, he contributed to enhance and grow the Dolce Vita Lifestyle among the Amalfi Coast, so hands down this is a must if you are looking for that worldwide famous vibe.

Geographically Hotel Marincanto is very well located, as it is close to the town centre and up on the main road. A real bonus is that it is easily reached by car or bus route, as many hotels in Positano are not accessible by road.

What you will find hospitality and kindness at Hotel Marincanto like no other; I personally love working with Monica Vespoli’s , the hotel owner and her team as they are always looking to accommodate all requests , going above and behind their duties.

Hotel Palazzo Murat

Situated in the main road that leads to Spiaggia Grande, this hotel its only yards away from the beach and minutes away from some of the most famous restaurants in town (see Chez Black).

What I love about this hotel is their beautiful and authentic garden; the scent from the Lemons and citrus, hanging over your head in the pergola, to the colourful and famous fuchsia bougainvillea, create the image of the the iconic Amalfi Coast.

What can I say about the pool! This is situated on the edge of the garden overlooking Positano beach; what a pleasure for the eyes this is, as it goes from different shades of blue between the pool and the beach.

This place offers something purely magical, it is worth noting that it is located in the core of the town which can get crowd and loud. Despite this it offers a magical and timeless experience.

I hope you enjoyed my top list of places where to stay at and do let me know if and when you visit any of these places! Please leave a comment below. if there is somewhere you think I missed. Let’s all share our experiences of such a beautiful location!
